Clans are the backbone of Astraeus Defense's social landscape. Players can join existing clans or form new ones to compete on global leaderboards and collectively earn unique collectibles. Each clan has a unique identity, expressed through a distinct ticker, region, colors, emblem, and description. All clans start out with a hierarchical structure and a commission system, set by the clan leaders, transparent to all members upon joining. Once a clan has sufficient members and resources, they can advance their clan to a DAO structure, allowing it to be governed by its members based on their contributions. From there, any treasury spend or adjustments to a clans structure are communicated in advance, voted on and implemented after a delay.
In order to initially form a clan, a small commitment of UAC & AC is required, to ensure the leader of a clan always has skin in the game.
Clan Treasury
The Clan Treasury is a communal fund built from an AC commission earned from members' quests. In the early stages of a clan, the leaders spend the treasury as they see fit. But as a clan progresses, these decisions may be made democratically. Options include:
Increased clan membership capacity.
Custom Clan tags appearing before members’ names.
Banners that may be showcased on clan members' maps that represent their clan.
Evolving clan from a hierarchy to a DAO structure to expand activities.
Clan Quests with Astrean crystal & unique cosmetic rewards that are exclusive to clans.
Clan Quests
Clan Quests are the core purpose of clans in the initial stages. These quests are difficult but rewarding, requiring a group effort. These quests yield Astraen Crystals, 80% of which is distributed among participating clan members who met their minimum contribution, along with seasonal cosmetics that are exclusive to clans. 20% of AC rewards are retained by the clans treasury. As clans collect commissions and complete quests to accumulate more AC in their treasuries, more clan quests will become available to choose from.
