and by beginning the Trials of Astraeus. Each day, players are randomly assigned one quest for each slot unlocked.
There are 4 types of quests a player can be assigned each day:
Starter Quests - These quests are issued to lower level players. Achievable through the unranked and ranked version of the game, these are often race-specific, or specific goals that force players to explore a variety of content that the game has to offer. These quests pay out varying amounts of XP & UAC based on quest difficulty.
General Quests - These quests are issued to players of a high enough level and are the primary way AC is issued to players. These quests are very broad and varied, requiring players to explore many parts of the game. A player must play ranked games to progress these quests and players are rewarded with UAC &
. A player may like to optimize their general quests by re-rolling, banning or favoriting certain quests as they prefer to.
Clan Quests - These quests require a player to have formed or joined a clan before they can be assigned. These quests are long assignments that your clan collectively work towards and all clan members that meet their minimum contribution to the quest will be rewarded with AC & skins that are exclusive to clan quests.
Trials of Astraeus - A player receives these quests once they have started the trials with the quest master. These quests are a recurring set of simple daily goals, with rewards growing increasingly more attractive over time.
Quests as a token distribution mechanism
Quests are essential to the distribution of the
as they encourage players to explore all areas of the game, and require players to play competitive ranked matches to complete. Additionally, having a finite number of quests distributed daily allows us to have a capped token supply, with rewards becoming more and more distributed as more players begin receiving quests. This means that as more players join the world of Astraeus, quests will reward players with less nominal AC per quest, rewarding those who were questing when AC was more abundant.
